Need to update Computer, got a ps3.

I'm at a dillema. I own a ps3 as well as a computer. I use the computer a little more even though its very out dated. I want to update it but I don't wanna keep buying stuff for ps3 and computer cause I don't have the money, a job, and my parents don't spoil me like some of you ;). Should I sell my ps3 use the money and some I already have to update or buy a new computer?

Could you help give me some ideas for around $500-750 range? I don't need a monitor, OS, mouse, or a keyboard.

I know a bit but I rather ask people who know more about this stuff.

It doesn't need to be anything special, I was thinking intel core duo, 2 gb of a good ram, and a evga graphics card a 9600 or 8800 probably, 512mb. I have no idea on power suppy's, mobo's or cooling though or even cases for that matter.


Heres some things I think were good quality. As you can see I don't need the best on the market but I want to upgrade.

Don't get a 9600. get a 9800 if you can afford it or a 9300

Personally, I just play lots of games on my Vista.
It's from '07, and not-so-new, but it was ahead of the game when I got it.
