Personal drama
Me and my 2 brothers are half native, putting us at 46%. And yes our tribe is one of them that owns a casino lol.

One of my brothers turned 18 summer of 07, he got about $44k
Blew all his money on a car and pot n booze for his friends. A girl got knocked up by him almost right away and he's doomed for life and broke already.

My younger cousin turned 18 last week, and attempted to cash it all and walk out. But was turned down by any good bank of course. She cashed it at the casino itself and had to pay nearly $3k in % fees for checkcashing.

My even younger brother just turned 18 today (20th) , and I talked him into opening a real checking and savings account, and having his first car be just an 02 or something.
But he's a huge meth head and will likely blow every penny of his $63k before the year is up on him and his friends burning out.

I was actually pretty stupid when I turned 18. I thought it was a good idea to put all of my money into a retirement cuz my dad kept telling me to. And I had nothing right away to use, being the only one in my family to ever move out and go to school and have real bills on my own. Was broke as stuff.

Summed up,
Indians are spoiled and stupid. Don't blow your money in their casinos because they don't know how to use it.
I belong to one of the few tribes that don't have the highschool deploma requirement to get your money.
Leaving most of the tribe a bunch of stupid bums.

Well could be worse. You could be related to Mike.  :cookieMonster: (inside joke)

But I'll agree with you on how dumb some things are run around here these days. I remember back in the day when all the reservation had was yards of crappy cars, now they're all sporting mustangs and camaros and it's us hard working people who are stuck with junk cars. If I was president, that would be one of the first things I'd change. Make them at least graduate and be on a path to attend college before they get a penny. And that money would be used for that education. Any unneeded expenditures from that and the rest of the cash would be revoked. I thought that was what it was originally supposed to be for in the first place.

The chairman and res board were discussing changing it to where the kid needed to graduate first last year. But got voted down because all the baord member's kids weren't doing well in highschool.

Can I have some money?  :cookieMonster:

Once he gives you some gives some to me. :D

Ah, not surprising. I'd want them outta my house as soon as possible too if that's the reason why they voted it down.

Yeah, i live in a town that has an Indian reservation. They have a casino and they're rich as forget.

They spend all their money on drugs and food.

I knew you had a large stash of money some where!

Haha, all tribes now-a-days own casinos  :cookieMonster:

It was my family that put Bisjac's family out west.
Lol, not really. I have no idea. I think I'm German.

So that's why bisjacs so rich? :D

Hollingsworth Nation

i dunno about rich. our tribe (Fond du Lac) gets 400 dollars a month for life.
also get a blank check for college taken care of for us.

but you don't get your money when your under 18, so it just adds up and you will get it in a lump sum then. then following your monthly money from then on.
every 4-5 years they decide to up it another hundred or so.
its not a hell of alot of money, but most of the native enrollees live for free on the res, with free cars and free utilitys. so its easy living.

this had nothing to do with my own schooling and business.
at that time few years back, the tribe didnt cover just any school's bills. only the local colleges. so i had to use government grants and standard school loans the hard way. for a 6 year degree, i actually only ever payed about 8k. being native, the government grants covered most all of my expenses.
i went to Minnesota school of business, then finished at the University of MN
but its funny now, that the tribe will cover any school in the world for 100% tuition plus living expence... i dont even need it anymore.
i guess i could go back again for stuffs and giggles :\ i loving hate school.
my online business with my nerd friends didnt really pick up till after this education bullstuff, now that i dont need a degree. time and money wasted, and undeserved.

anyways. my brother is buying some 04 car i forgot what, for 13k in cash. and i can bet he will smash it up before the year is over. tomorrow hes going to the dealer.
i cant imagine what full coverage for a pretty new car is for a non driving experienced 18 year old kid.

:o 400 dollars a month? Where can I join this said 'tribe'?
