Fallout 3 crash.

on Fallout 3 in some city overrun by fire ants(yes,they shoot fire)some kid runs up to me and says his father needs saving but when i exit the dialouge Fallout 3 crashes.What do i do?

You're trying to do the quest "Those!" and the game crashes when you are done talking to the kid?  How many times have you tried going back and doing this?

lets see....3,first was a damn accident(i started shooting at him cause i thought he was a raider)2nd was for that Wasteland survival quest looking fo supplies when he just runs up and yells it the 3rd was the same as 2nd

I'd say you're using a PC to play so, here's what you do.
1.  When you see him coming towards you, open the console.
2.  Click on him then type

kill and press enter
3.  Exit the console.
You'll never be able to do the quest though if you do this btw, but you don't really get much anyway, so meh.

Won't work, just will knock him unconscious unless you have the killable children mod

Well it should knock him unconscious long enough to get away.

Try typing DISABLE instead.

Bethesda made the command for a reason. It gets rid of stuff that makes your game unplayable. (in practice, Dark Brotherhood assassins murdering you with poisoned blades while you are locked in a prison cell because you stole a fork and couldn't pay the fine)

Too bad you can't play the Those! quest. You get a nice perk.
