What would be a good, easy to use (for starting off) program to make models?
The only experience I've had with any of these is in MS3D a couple years ago, and I had JUST got into it when my trial ended.

Other than that, I absolutely hated Sketchup.

Wings3D, Anim8or, Sketchup, MS3D and Blender are the ones I would recommend.

I'll try Blender or Wings3D to start, and if I don't like them, I'll go back to MS3D.

Blender is alright for general model making, but for games I wouldn't really recommend it. MS3D is very good if you know how to take full advantage of it, example would be using the hide tool and Selection Editor.

Blender can be fun as hell once you get the hang of it.
