You have no idea to what lengths we have already gone to make bricks render fast. They are already grouped in very efficient ways.

Having a way to subdivide/merge bricks would be interesting, though.

I'd like this, only not automatic. It would kinda suck to make a big ass wall of 1x1 for use in an event for a mural when it turns into a 1x5x12

I guess what im trying to say is, it wouldnt turn into one huge brick, (the bricks would still have the shapes) but it would be grouped.

I agree, welding bricks would be an awesome feature.

Welded bricks would stay together even when fakekilled.. That would be awesome!

Maybe an option for auto/manual brick grouping? Also, a brick grouping gun would be useful.
