I guess if you like ugly stretched bricks with skewed textures and all the wrong proportions that look horrible and that, because of the game's LOD and the hacky method their size was changed, have textures that randomly become more and less detailed when you look at them.

Come on, you've got to agree it was for the best we got rid of it. Everything looks so much more awesome now that it doesn't look like stretched rubber covered in stuff.
