Outside of the Super Duper mart I have randomly come across a raider with a firelance once.

Ok find Evergreen Mills go into to the bazaar and get The Terrible shotgun ( At perfect repair and 100 small guns skill it does 75 damage )

just play the game and eventually you will get weapons. At first I tried to plan everything out, but it works really well if you do w/e. You will get the hunting rifle which you will use a lot, then you will find an assault rifle, and maybe even upgrade to the Chinese assault rifle which is 5x better. Lincoln's repeater is in the museum of history, and is the super upgraded version of the hunting rifle.

If you saved a part in the game before leaving the vault, go back and get the BB gun and the ammo and keep with you and look for a person
to sell it took(or trade it if posbbile).

When you can, craft a dart gun. Anything melee will be easy.

I should try out that Railway Rifle...  What do you people think of it?

It's okay. I use all 8 slots of my weapons all the time, it includes the railway rifle. It's fun if you want to nail some heads to the walls.

My characters stealth, so I sneak everywhere. Earlier in the game I was sneaking near some mole rats, and one jumped at me. I shot his head off in mid air and it stuck to the ceiling. Was pretty epic.

Go to megaton and ask for the super duper market quest from the shopkeeper at The Craterside Supply.

Go to the location indicated on your map. Kill everyone inside and grab all the loot. You should find a shotgun somewhere around there.

You might get ambushed at the store. The people outside might have a shotgun.

After you have a shotgun, kill super mutants. Take their hunting rifle.

Congratulations, you now have the two weapons I completed a bit over half the game with. Make sure to grab all the sniping related perks for your hunting rifle.

Lincoln's rifle is the Museum of Natural History. It's full of ghouls, and there's a lot of super mutants between where you are now and there. The alien blaster is out somewhere, consult the wiki. There is a limited supply of ammo and you'll need energy weapon skill. (You already did this)

If you also go behind Sprinvale school you will find a Hunting rifle and some other junk(it has no ammo or that item I accidently hit was it :3
