It can't not activate on April 1st, unless no internet.
It only needs the internet to "connect" to the master user it will still go off if passed April 1st

How  long will i stay out IF it's real and is it a trojan virus as well?

Will macs be safe? they usually hold up good against viruses

The program only infects Windows-based machines; Mac and Linux systems appear to be safe.

And while Mr.X is distracting everyone with his silly virus... my plan to take over the internet shall begin...

i'm sorry i couldn't help myself :3

Ya so i did a full scan on my computer today and it only showed that i have visited to many research sites in the last 2 months.

IMO It's an april fools day prank... YA' THINK?

I ain't fraid of no stinkin virus. Same crap as the Y2K bug back in 2000. Just a lot of over-hyped hooplah about something that will only slightly inconvenience people.

Can't I just unplug my internet and not go on the computer for the whole day?

will i be fine? :o

No.

If you're already infected, that won't work.

There are some serious flaws in this whole virus biz.

First of all, as someone else pointed out somewhere, if this is as serious and it's made out to be, why only a 250,000 dollar reward? That's not much for millions of loving pissed customers.

Second, they say it's been transferring itself to computers since october. Well, how do we know? I mean usually people don't go, "OH. You know, I just found this virus going to every computer on the internet, I think I'll wait til a week before April Fool's day to tell people about it."

And 3rd, it activates itself on April Fool's day. However practical the day may be, you cannot deny this would be the most epic practical joke ever played on society.

One more thing that isn't proof that it's a hoax or could be one, but rather a way it could be pulled off is by those virus scan things people are told to download. You download them and they tell you you have the "virus" which in reality may not even exist. And so far I've only seen like, 2 people say they have it... If anyone wants to prove they have it using a different virus scanner be my guest, I'm fairly certain this isn't what's going on anyways.

The A variant of the virus came out in October, You need the B variant for C to work.

Also, Kaspersky and Bitdefender habe removal tools for the virus.

BD's removal tool is better though, Plus the site isn't blocked by Conficker, If you can access any virus site or microsoft's site, It means you don't have the virus.

Still why did no one ever hear about the A virus?
