Author Topic: Pokemon Platinum (PKMN Pt)  (Read 1833 times)

I bought my new game, Platinum, three days ago. So far, I love the improvements. The gyms are different, the graphics are overall  better, and the plot changes A LOT. There's a lot to discuss--such as the Distortion World (don't want to spoil it for you) and the fact that you can catch Giratina at level 47. (Instead of 70) I was a bit disappointed. Just to clear some things up, the picture for Giratina is not different than the one in Pearl/Diamond after you catch it, it just looks different in the Distortion World. You also have the same starter pokemon. Not to sound like a total pokecigarette, but I thought the Pokemon gamers would like to know.
At the moment, I have 2 high-level pokemon; I have beaten the Elite 4 and now I'm going on to the Battle Fronteir thing.
Any questions, I can answer them. (as long as I've gotten there)

Should i stop playing diamond to buy this? :<

I just started a new save, goddamn zubat seems useless

Wait.. you can catch whatshisface in pearl and diamond? Then the only thing new is the plot change and the distortion world? (and all the other minor things like graphics)

There's a huge list, basically you can catch a stuffload more lengendaries (3 birds from the first games, 3 regis from R/S/E, both legendaries from P/D, a few more things)

Pre-game pokedex had a makeover, now 200 instead of 150 pokemon to choose from with more loving fire types. You can also catch loving houndoor and scyther relatively early, as well as the first legendary you SHOULD meet in Diamond/Pearl (that lighting/ghost thing). You can now catch it before completing the game.

Allot of stuff makes more sense, but most importantly the game got a huge speed boost in battles. It's now as fast as the R/S/E games (pretty loving fast). Also surfing's faster.

Essentially if you're restarting diamond or pearl you might as well go out and buy platinum for the 25+ new features and improvements.

Thanks for the advice br0
FASTER BATTLES stuff YEAH

No, no, Platinum is godly compared to D&P
If you've played either of the originals and thought they kicked ass, you'll love Platinum. The game has new wi-fi enabled junk, new Poketch features, and tons of other kickass stuff.
For those who think it's just graphics, go get some real sources instead of just making assumptions. If you have Pearl or Diamond, you definately should get Platinum. I personally thought it would suck, and I love it.
Edit: Olol, no fc's :C
Did I also mention on the GTS you can search for the original location of the pokemon you want? =]

Heres my plan once i get platinum
I have two ds in my housd( mine and my brothers)
i put my peril in my bros, and my plat in mine, and trade pokemon(catch alot of low lvl pokemon then trade)
