It was probably a Cranefly or Toxorhynchites speciosus(mosquito hawk).

Here's one I caught outside.
That's a mosquito hawk, atleast a hundred come near my house durring the summer.

Probably not one of those, there's no reason for one of those to get near skin since they don't suck blood.
EDIT: Upon a little research, I found that apparently neither does the crane fly. Weird.
