I was just wondering, how do you get add-ons you download off of Garrysmod.org into the game? I looked and looked, but I can't seem to find anything I download.
Help?

I had the same problems, but I was told how to fix. Instead of just saving the add ons to your folder, you have to extract them and they should work then.

I tried that, but it didn't work. I extracted using Winrar.
Wait... Gmod is version 10, right?

Save window opens
garrysmod>garrysmod>addons
save
Successful
open addons
extract all to addons

Is that right?

Download the addon, extract it to: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\username\garrysmod\garrysmod\addons (Lol! don't forget to scan it :P)

it isn't blockland, you can't just save the zip/rars into the addons folder.

You have to extract the contents into it.

I don't see how it's so hard, just look at the folders and see if they're in the same structure.

The forehead on the model is screwed up so it is a turn off when you mess with it.

Well, I extract the entire file to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\skid222\garrysmod\garrysmod\addons,and it doesn't work.

Crap add-ons will not work usually and most stuff on Gmod.org will not be up to date. That is why you always try to find an SVN of the thing first.

Yes, See if there is a SVN version of the add-on you want, Wiremod, SMBP, Stargate, ect...
