My 360 is screwed, what should I do.

Well yesterday I was just about to play some Assassin's Creed when I noticed the 3 red sections of the: Red Ring of Death lit. I am pretty sure 3 sections mean the disk drive is broken. Now my 360 is way out of its warranty dateline, but would I still be able to get it repaired?

(RROD Stages:
1 section: System is still overheated.

2 sections: A/C Fans are broken

3 sections: Your disk drive is broken

4 sections: Your Xbox 360 console is totaled.

(From what I heard anyways))

If it's way out of warranty Microsoft will want $99 to repair it. I just bought an Arcade and used my hard drive and bought the 3 year extended warranty.

I did that ghetto fix where you unplug everything but the power cord, turn it on and wrap like 3 or 4 towels around it then letting it cool down.

it worked for about a week before it screwed up again.

the fix for 3 lights btw.

Only a complete idiot would try that, not only would this void any warrantys it would also screw up anything else that isn't already wrong with your Xbox.

That is why I didn't do anything like that execpt put the disk drive in a Ziploc^TM Baggy.
(To prevent it from getting damaged further.)

I no longer had a warranty, the thing was going to hell anyways and if I'm going to have to spend more money to get it fixed then to just by a new one why just just try it?

It's called the ring of light, and the RRoD is the 3rd stage, as you put it.
Oh, and those "stages" are incorrect. For example, the whole ring red means your A/V cords are not plugged in.

The electrical cords? I suppose that could be the problem, since after I played my PS2 (I am out of date with these things -_-' ) Then the Xbox failed. About 4 hours before I used the PS2, it worked fine.

I was saying that for anyone thinking that wrapping your xbox in towels and over heating it is a good idea (it's not). It wouldn't have cost more to repair it than it would for a new xbox but since you over heated it to the point were the wires sodered back together you wont even be able to repair it.
