I just found something even worse. Using "got" in two different tenses in the same sentence.

"You've got to get that project done!"

The word "done" is also used incorrectly.

What got have got you gotten got got to got tv? Got.

I gotta catch 'em all.

I don't think I've ever used the word "got" seriously in either spoken or written form.


My peev is when people "ax" questions.

"Got" in expressions or sayings is fine with me, but using it in a sentence drives me insane as well.

Wait, "You've got that right" works fine. "You have that right" sounds stupid.

Got sounds like some weird disease or something.

I have this ingrown resentment for hicks ever since I lived in PA, almost universal if you will.

I talk with one, so I say "I've got/you've got" etc. all the time.

I keep it Midwest. But I drop the "pop" when I say soda.
