In my opinion, I feel that this country is becoming too uptight and pissy for my liking and as much as I am against the use of drugs, I feel this country would benefit from at least one joint a day just to be able to loosen up enough to pull the stick out from their asses. Maybe the country would be better for it?

There is less stuff in marijuana then in cigs. Also legalizing it would prolly cut down on crime.

And people who are saying "I don't want high people staggering around my streets" Say hello to a thing the world likes to call alcohol.

Yes, but you can't breathe in alcohol.
If you don't want to breathe it, it'll probably be hard to because everyone will be smoking a joint.

The second-hand smoke effects of marijuana are not that bad. In comparison to cigarette smoke marijuana is harmless. Still the drug is psychoactive, which means it impairs a few brain functions while you're under the effects. Moral of the story, don't smoke pot while driving, you crazies.

Legalization is mostly a moral issue right now since pot doesn't have many detrimental effects if any at all. The cigarette is far more dangerous then pot in every respect and it's perfectly legal. There are also some other psychoactive drugs that have been legalized but simply for their health benefits, which is also the main reason for trying to push pot into legalization.

Personally I am for the legalization for numerous reasons that go well beyond the simple-minded "Lol more car accidents" stuff, the health benefits being the major reason of course.

Oh right, everyone will be smoking a joint. Everyone in the world would be smoking a joint at the same time and filling the streets with smoke.

The funny thing is the prohibition against marijuana is the only possible reason this theory could be true. There is nothing in marijuana that would make its users seek a harder drug, if marijuana was legalised, regulated and taxed like alcohol and tobacco you would be able to smoke your pot with no way to access harder drugs. Wheras with its current illigal status, to obtain you you need to get into contact with drug dealers, who are just there to make money. So a lot of them will try to convince you to do other drugs if they are also dealers of that drug.
Like you said, drug dealers are just there to make money. Who's to say they won't lace the marijuana with harder drugs to get you hooked on them? I assume the harder drugs cost more money. Seems like an effective money making scheme to me.

I'm not saying I'm against it being legalized. What I was saying is that it should be regulated.

Off-topic: Another thing that should be regulated is prostitution.

Lol, yeah I suppose.

For it all the way. Less crime, and I already see pot heads all over my city.

Thats great an all but wouldn't you see the same amount (or more) if it was acutally legal in the first place?

While your pretty much right, maybe take into consideration what i said on the 2nd page.

they should legalize it, ban smoking cigarettes, and tax the stuff out of pot as it WILL likely cost as much or more then cigarettes.
It will still be illegal to buy it from anywhere except a store, just like cigs and booze. regulated farms with regulated prices. so still illegal to have your grow houses and your hood dealers.

the pot heads going on and on about needing to legalize it, will feel pretty stupid then. just going to have to dish out more and more money for it.

The only reason weed is called a "gateway drug" is because people have no loving willpower to stay at weed or to quit it. The hype from the media saying "it makes you go crazy" is also blown out of proportion. At most, it makes you slightly stupider if you have the wrong type. Yes it's bad for you, IF you get something that is LACED with an other drug.

Really, I don't really care. Personally, I don't smoke just because if my parents were to ever find out, I would never be allowed by myself ever. Just got to wait till college...

ITT: People who've never seen weed
i haven't seen it, but i've smelled someone smoking it outside of a 99 cent store. 'smells horrible

Smells a bit like coffee. I've seen it, I've touched it, I've smelled it, I'm just not smoking it... Yet....
