Author Topic: Planning on buying PS3\What games should I get?  (Read 1986 times)

I want a PS3. I can now afford one. :D
I really don't know of too many games for it, so if youse guys could recommend some to me, that would be helpful.

Both Resistance games for sure. Definately LittleBig Planet. Also, if you haven't played the God of War series at all, grab the first and second, even if they are for PS2, and beat those. Then wait for God of War 3, which will probably be epic.

Still didn't beat GoW, stucking in neptunes place.

Really? I beat it a few times. It's really an excellent series. Perfect integration of story, greek mythology, and intense action.

little big planet, duh

Thanks. I definitely want Little Big Planet. And the Resistance games looks really good as well. I'm also looking forward for Infamous.

Make sure you get one with backwards compatibility
The 60GB's have it and so do the Older 80GB's. The  new ones don't have it because of cost issues
Unless you don't want to play any PS2/X games

Edit:
also does anyone know if you can watch DVD's on one? because I'm trying to talk my folks into getting one for a entertainment center and that's a bit of a key factor
NVM you can

Good games to think about:
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Metal Gear Solid 4
  • Resistance 2
  • Grand Theft Auto 4

Also, wait for CoD6 to come out, when it does, buy it.

Sorry for the double post but I'd like to point out that this statement is quite false.

The 40GB's have it and so do the Older 80GB's. The really old PS3's and new ones don't have it

The backwards compatibility capable PS3's are the 20gb's and 60gb's, both released at the launch date.

My 40gb does not have it so I got enough evidence to disregard Zackin's info.

Thanks for clarifying the backwards compatibility thing. The two games that I really want to get are Little Big Planet and Metal Gear Solid 4. :D

Ah stuff got my number mixed up, I meant 60GB and 80GB

Uh, then how have I played PS2 and PS1 games on my PS3, the first generation.  The old 20GB doesn't have Backwards compatibility

It does, I'm just missing a hell of a lots of stuff the last few days because I've been kind of sleepy for some reason

Allow me. I have been doing this for years. *puts on latex glove*

  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
  • Fallout 3

That's actually a list of my PS3 games, excluding Mirror's Edge, which isn't too great in my opinion.
