No it's not piracy.

If you own it it's not piracy. That's the whole confusion behind piracy.

but...where would i find a "backup" download for it if not a piracy site >_< is game site give free backups? ._.

Most companies will you tell you it's illegal, but I don't see why not if as long as you can prove you bought and own the game (broken disk, product key, receipt etc)

edit: if you mean downloading an iso it's illegal, dont do it.

what game is it? maybe you can order a new disk

what game is it? maybe you can order a new disk
Star Wars : Knights Of The Old Republic

...i dont recall seeing a thing to order a new disk in its manual...besides there are like...4 discs

The only way to get a iso is from some one who has uploaded it illegally, though I doubt it's illegal to download something you already own as long as you actually own it with your own CD Key. Though I don't support or suggest it for ban-able reasons.

I'd suggest just contacting the publishing company for an extra. Usually if you mail in your proof (i.e. CD key) then they'll send you an extra CD.

1.its 4 cds 2.i dont have the cds anymore because my mom or dad threw them in the trash 3.we got a virus somehow once and lost the game proof so i dont have the game on my computer anymore...

And usually you have to pay for extra DVD anyway.
And even that is for games which are not older than 2 years.

And depends in which country you live. Laws vary.

Downloading is legal, uploading is illegal.

Downloading pirated games even if you have the CD is like buying drugs off the street even though you have a prescription.

You CAN, however, download the game untouched and simply enter your CD key.
