Continually collecting firewood to fuel a fire is not fun at all.

Wintersurvival for garrysmod got it right. Fires burn forever which gives you time to do stuff thats actually fun, like hunt food or build a town. You just have to return to the fire occasionally to warm yourself up and cook your food. You can find enough wood around the map that you can easily build temporary camps at hunting/mining/gathering/lumber sites.

ya that makes more sense
than always feeding a fire, you should jsut have to find the resorce for a fire once and that will get you one

Any servers of that you know? I want to try.

You're refusing to answer his logical arguments and instead go run away to a "private" forum, making this "team effort" or community-contributed mod into a private thing for about eight people total.

About your container searches, how much does it lag when you add a couple thousand bricks, a hundred or so radio bricks and 20+ players in the average 'developed' server?
I have tried to cut down on this by adding them to a sim set and looping through them all as you said. The reason I have that topic is basic help with some of my concepts. Most of my errors are basic syntax, so I can usually fix them myself. But I had no idea why my first idea wasn't working. I believe that this will not be laggy, most server owners manage their servers in a way that prevents lag, or at least the people we will be giving this to. I thought you were with us on this mod. Also, I don't plan on making fires run out INCREDIBLY fast, I plan to have them slowly burn for a while. I would rather just get back on topic and pretend that I never said that this had more pages than RTB. I could care less, it was just a little joke. Ephi, you shouldn't care, how does it effect you if this mod fails? (Don't answer, it's a rhetorical)

I will help if you need

My installation seems to not be working, I'll fix it later and host it later. I'm going to move to my own topic in the games forum for everyone who wants to try it out.

Well, I'm glad you asked! First off, I'd like to point out that "CityRP" was only meant to be hosted by a few people and look what happened. If this magically manages to see the light of day then I don't think you'll be able to restrain yourselves from heavily distributing it. Now as everyone knows - when something new is available, everyone will download it regardless of quality or performance issues. This becomes a problem when there are substantial issues with quality or performance as I am seeing here. Not only do you have multiple radius container searches for radios and fire, you also plan to have AI animals to hunt which is actually going to skyrocket your radius searches. You've then got a series of loops going for hunger, warmth, AI. Not to mention you're going to have wheeled vehicles which slightly decreases your performance too. That sounds like a recipe for poor performance pie.

(Rhetorical questions are my favourite type!)

I believe that this will not be laggy, most server owners manage their servers in a way that prevents lag, or at least the people we will be giving this to.

But first, I'd love to hear how server owners manage their servers in a way to prevent lag?

Yeah, I  believed my bots wouldn't be laggy either.

They were, so instead of saying " I BELIEVE THEY WILL FIND A WAY!" I went in for hours of recoding >:U

I made a radio if anyone wants it. It's suposed to look like a CB Radio that was able to be salvaged from a truck that had crashed. Or something like that. It hasn't been textured, but I can if anyone wants. Also, I'm not the best at exporting, so someone else would need to do that.

Now tilt the radio upright, move the antennae and make it an Electro-Sapper.

Seriously?

All the wires and controls look exactly like the ones on the front of the Sapper. :cookieMonster:

Alright I'm back but really tired, so... bleh. Let Ephi n them criticize, I don't wanna argue with them, I'll never win or lose, and they'll think they always win.

@Thorax: Nice radio.

@Glass: How far away is the chat system from being playable? on a scale of 1-10

@Tom: So it sounds like heat's working, do you have a fire model? If not we need one.

Sorry, I don't.
