In MGS4, I can't figure out the backstory of the beauty and the beast corps, I get that they are some sort of female cyborgs with post-traumatic stress disorder, and each of them has a different thing to deal with that, like crying or laughing, but why do they shrivel up when they die, and why do they start acting like their normal selves when they are thrown from the machine?
