Creativity's community will bash the stuff out of someone, thinking that they had stolen some artwork(only being because it's good), when we usually have no proof.

But when we can Google the loving title, and see nearly EXACT images, we don't say stuff?

I don't know about tracing, but he might've used it for a reference. When my sister took art classes, she used a bunch of pictures for references, and they look very much like the reference when she finished the drawing.

They are traced because that was the class Asignment.
You should see the other failures, atleast I used the line tool and not the stroke took.
Also, i made a New Detailed Hal, which i will post later.

I don't know about tracing, but he might've used it for a reference. When my sister took art classes, she used a bunch of pictures for references, and they look very much like the reference when she finished the drawing.

Most art assignments that require you to draw an exact image, will have you use difficult to work with materials, and make you include almost every single bit of detail.  Those assignments obviously being more advanced than Menen's.

He just traced the basic outlining, fillcanned it, and threw in some gradual lighting effects.

Using the line tool instead of the brush does not make tracing an image and calling it your drawing any more acceptable.
