If the default password doesn't work, then someone changed it.
You don't need the install disk to reset it. You don't need the install disk at all.

There should be a little hole at the back, labeled Reset. Stick something thin in there and use it to hold down the button inside there for 10 seconds. All your router settings should reset to default.

No not at all.
The internet IP is determined by the modem.
The local IP is determined by the computer, UNLESS you set the computer to automaticly obtain an IP.

It'll clear all of your router settings though.
