Real men play Penumbra.

It's the scariest thing I have ever seen/played/heard of/smelled.

Oh yeah, penumbra is loving scary, I love how yoylu can use everything

DOOM 3 was terriblel. It was boring, there was too much phong, it was too dark, and the ONLY good part was the redesigned Hell Knight.

I will never consider it a part of the DOOM series, it's a bastard child.

Well if i've played bioshock without freaking out. Ever. Then this will be easy I suppose.

Fyi,Bioshock isn't scary...AT ALL unless your'e like 9 years old...(or less :P)

Yep. But it's quite morbid.

...Like watching a splicer cut up a body from a darkend corner. Or a little sister being beaten down...or a big daddy drilling through a splicer's head.

doom 3 is dark as heck. And your flashlight has limited batteries. So its just dark in there

penumbra IS scary. i played the first level for that penumbra overture game. at first it was alright but then theres that part where you turn on the light, and the words on the wall are just around you. that scared the stuff out of me. XD. has anyone played condemned? one thing that scared me were the mannequins. is that how you spell it? those stone guys in suits. you go into the room...there all lined up so you keep going and then its like....what the...you turn around there behind you. turn back around in front of you. i swear i was like O_O_O_O_O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOLZ

I remember a part in penumbra... Man that was the stuff scaryest moment in my life.

I'm just walking with my glow stick and it's dim green light shows stuff, I can see 5 feet infront of me.
So I'm walking in the darkness... " picture this in your head now!" I'm walking in the completly dark hallway with a glow stick and stuff! A door behind me just blasts open and this white humanoid figure stands there with black eyes. It starts to move closer to me with immiting growling noises. I began to run as fast as my legs can bear, I'm throwing boxes, rocks at it and nothing works! I'm running and stuffting my self in the same time. I came to a halt and turned around and it was gone, I pull out my flash light and look around me, I see a skeleton holding something in the corner then bam! I see the white figure imerging from the darkness, it's on full charge moaning and groaning!

wasnt Wolfenstein the first 1st person shooter? i have it. also Commander Keen.

good games. classics.

Doom was the 2nd first person game.

You two are so wrong.

There were several first-person games before DOS existed, but they were not very popular. Before Wolfenstein 3D, id Software had released HoverTank 3D and Catacomb 3D.

And Wolfenstein wasn't even a first-person shooter, Wolfenstein 3D was.

I thought it was going to be like bioshock.

Bioshock made in 2008 or 2009. Doom 3 made in *enter old date here*. ... You really can't expect it to be similar...

I thought F.E.A.R was more frightening that DOOM 3 ever was. Maybe when I was 10, I could hardly play DOOM 3, but I didn't even try to play F.E.A.R.

I only beat fear about 2 months ago. I would close the doors and cut off all light sources except the monitor when I played, for the extra mood.

I scared my self so stuffless that I had to give myself a giant cinnamon roll afterwards. It helped.

DOOM? Eh. The only thing that really scared me was fighting the Hell Knights. But really, any giant, loud creature chasing after me will scare me.

penumbra is scary. Every time i play i stop at the part where theres the wolf thing. I can't even figure out what to do there anyway, I kept hitting it with a barrel but nothing :(

I'm not frightened by the HL2 zombies, but if I'm almost dead and a fast zombies coming after me, I'll definitely pull a little scream.

lol you people get scared of video games. Obviously haven't had any real life Near-death experiences yet.
