Author Topic: New computer?  (Read 2332 times)

They used a credit card to fix my processor.... A credit card..

They are just over all unprofessional.

Also, if they are the best support team.. I feel kinda scared to go anywhere else.

Maybe that was one of the best tools for the job?

I go to a stuffty run down building the says "computer store" in blue paint on the front the guy behind the counter knows his stuff and that's all i really care about.

Also he won't work on laptops. That's double points on my book (if you have ever had the pleasure of working on one you'd know why it makes you sound smarter when you say you're not going to mess with them.)

I've replaced parts in my laptop and it's really easy. Except the processor.

Haha.
I owned two Gateway M675 laptops (one was an M675PRR), and right upon removing the screws for the fans and taking off the fan, the processor sits right there.

2500+ bricks and draw distance down for me. (MSI Wind laptop)

I was wondering and didn't feel like starting a new topic for a related question, would this be a good enough video card for a gamer who plays WoW, Steam games, Blockland and other games:
nVidia GeForce 9800GT 512MB

Yeah, that would be good.

Yeah, that would be good.
K I'm going through a thing customizing a computer I'm not buying but would eventually like to buy.

Don't get a laptop.

Build your own PC. Desktop..
BUT DONT DO IT AT FRYS.

Ahem... As i was saying..

I just built a PC for about the following..

Mother Board ----$50
AMD x4 920 ----$190
Barbone PC/case ----$20
RAM (2 2gig cards) ----$40
Nvidia 9500 GT ----$60
hardrive(160gig) ----$30

Monitor --- 100$

Total: $490

And its wayyy better than a loving lap top that would cost around... 900$?

You forgot a power supply and operating system. I'm sure he doesn't want to be using linux.

$490? Where did you buy the parts for that price?

Lucky you, mine has a series of heat sinks over the fan with the processor several inches away using a heat transfer system to get the heat to the fan. It's the price we pay for flat computers that they are completely fubar.

I have a very similar system, except it is for the CPU as well as the GPU.
