Altimeter

So, as a few of my friends and I were flying around trying to get as far from the bedroom as possible, I thought of the idea of an altimeter mod, or an altitude meter (link).
Seeing how there's a compass mod, I figured an altimeter would be perfect to couple with it, just as an extra bit of fun for flying around.
Please let me know what you think, I don't believe this would be too difficult to make, so any feedback would be great.

I think the altimeter alone would be fine, there is no need to measure speed as the same add-on.

No, I meant the vertical speed as an addition to an entirely different mod, the Speedometer, but combining the two, along with the Compass mod, could be very useful.

Vertical speed would be cool, as well, but an altimeter would be a little more important in a plane.
You can guess your vertical speed as long as you have an altimeter.

Maybe something that detects if you are above the terrain plate but it wouldn't work to well in hilly maps such as slopes.

Altitude is generally how far you are above sea level, so doing it like that should be fine.

Maybe it could spawn an invisible datablock sort of thing and it determines how high you are above it.

Yeah, that's like a sonar sorta thing.
I think altitude above the terrain would be the best, since above the terrain plate would vary by map too much.

Or you could get the position of the plane continuously (it would require fast, looping schedules like the gravity jeep) and then use Getword(%position, #); on it to get the height.

You would do that? If so, hell yeah, many people would find uses for it. Like health, mini-map, and height. :P
