Author Topic: BlockLand Guests System.  (Read 3459 times)

There is a guest system. It is done in these steps.

Get a friend to buy the game
Lan party
???
Temporary free game for friends.

Besides that you just have the demo. Really, it is a nice game. I found it to be worth the money.

If we do guests system we will be copying roblox.

No...We wouldn't. You think r0bl0x was the first place to have a Guest System? If you want I can speak with a robloxian moderator for you...

Anyway...If you have to pay for Blockland and find out it's terrible, then, you've just wasted $19.99 on a game you dislike. And also $19.99 may get rid of n00bs and handicaps, but it DEFINATLY put off some people to buy Blockland.

I like the "One day" idea but maybe you could take away talking(from guests),keep brick limit, allow them to experience online play for one day.

Limited Bricks? Neh.....On roblox, you just can't speak. You only have....DA DREADED DEMO TALK. I was also thinking a week.

One week is to long,if badspot EVER considered this it wouldn't be one week.

the closest thing i imagine badspot will ever incorporate into the game to this (and this is one seriously huge loving stretch) is a trial server system

'trial players' can do quite literally NOTHING but watch all the other players do neat things. put simply, they're in spectator mode for building and deathmatching and whatever the hell the players on the server happen to be doing at the moment

despite the fact they're doing ABSOULTELY NOTHING, they might get an idea of what blockland is about from just looking at the players do their thing online

maybe the server could come with new, extra preferences like maximum trial players on a server at once, trial player chat, etcetera

...or alternately, free weekends

If they can do nothing then they'll probaly not buy Blockland.

wow, it's almost like you didn't even read my post

Then that's too bad, no use crying over spilt milk. Besides, it's only put off the kiddies and handicaps.

So you're saying trial people will just eat out server bandwidth without even participating in the server?

Great! What a waste! :D

well, i imagine people would make specialized servers for this kind of thing: or use really pumped up servers or something, like clan freebuilds or jor's dogfight or some stuff

also i imagine just f8ing and chatting can't take up THAT much bandwith, they're not shooting or anything, it's just a disembodied camera

The server still has to transmit their position, as well as everyone else's, and the bricks, and god damn everything.

STFU! Or youre getting banned from all BL servers!
What.

Right....Idk wth you're talking about now. >.>

Idiot, he's saying that to test Online, we don't want to just GIVE you a free day. We want to SHOW you what's it would be like. Like watching a review on a game that hasn't been released yet.
