Author Topic: how do i get rid of guilt without confessing?  (Read 7253 times)

Keep lieing then you'll feel nothing at all.

You don't. Now go figure out your own life.

You don't. You'll really have to live with it, unless there is another way I do not know about.

Talk to a therapist or confess.

What did you do?  If you confess to somone totally a stranger you might feel better. (blockland forums)

Honestly? easiest way? Lie to yourself.

I think the only way to get rid of guilt is to confess it, even better, talk about it with someone. Lieing to yourself will get you nowhere.

Try to ease out of lie by gradually confessing. And do it so gradually no one notices. Thats what I do.

You can go to confession if you're catholic.

This depends entirely on how moral you are.

For some people it may not work but most people can convince themselves that it was either something they had to do, wasn't their fault or would have happened anyway.

EDIT: A favorite self lie I see used all the time is some form or "destiny", in this case you basically shift the blame to god.

That's entirely false. If you lie to your self, you're basically covering up the fact that you did it. You're hiding it in the back of your mind, and no matter how much you lie to yourself, it will show itself every chance it gets, unless you get it off your chest. I know you may think otherwise, but it's true.

1. Use any of these methods, though they're all equivalent to Ctrl+k.
2. Time for a moral spring cleaning, get rid of stuff you don't need.

I suggest the latter.

If you have time to feel guilty, you have time to make things right.
