Ok so my world was origionally a snow world, but now with biomes its back to a forestish biome, now i've still got snow on the ground and the water around me is ice, any quick ways to get rid of the ice?

I thought you can't put torches on ice though? and even at that it wouldn't get rid of all of it, i wonder if lava would do any good.

Lava would solidify when it hits the water. You'd have a field of stone to clear instead of ice.
