If you're in a room with a fan, turn the fan on high so the room gets colder.
You may have to get a blanket or something, but your computer will be less likely to overheat too much and cigarette out.

I found a huge tunnel complex that I've never been in before and it was packed with mushrooms, iron, gold, coal, and mobs. And I found some diamond and got my hopes up too soon, because it was just 1 loving block.

Ugh, I couldn't imagine playing on a deep level for this. I spend enough time hunting for areas to return to for ore.
