Look at Proffessor Booster and the Red Faction miner, they have some small 3-D parts or I'm having graphics glitches.

Here's a template that shows where the 3D pixels will be on the different sides of the head. The red line is where I drew the line to give my hat a brim.

I noticed the top and bottom of the brim are not rendered faces, is that fixable?

I don't think there's really anything you can do about it, Notch will probably make it so instead of it placing a flat pixel it will make a 1x1 cube so the hat will have more dimension.

Like in this skin Snowman made of Ellis, when he looks down or up the bill of his hat is probably like that.
