It was a simple mistake, it's not like I raged on about how this guy was a stuffhead, I've never used Minecraft fourms before and judging by the effort he put into the thread, (I.E. Icons & Crafting Recipies), I had thought he had created a mod. I also thought the polls to add the stuff to Minecraft were a suggestion to make it official.
