Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it

I hate the first night.
Currently in a small hole with a skeleton outside the door, and no pickaxe and  only a raw porksteak for food. Oh and I only have 2 hearts left from trying to kill the skeleton.

The first night's always the demotivating night for me. It's either I manage to get enough resources to survive or I give out and explore. I've got horrible motivation.

Here's what I do:

1) Punch ONE tree.
2) Make a workbench.
3) Make a wood pick.
4) Find coal and cobblestone and gather them.
5) Create a stone shovel, axe, and sword.
6) Get ~20-30 wood
7) Build house.
It's usually getting night by this step.
8) Make torches.
9) Realize that bed was forgotten then make a mad dash for sheep.
10) Get sheep.
11) Make it home just in time.

I don't like people who make more than one wood tool. Punch a tree or two, make a workbench, sticks, and some logs for a wooden pick. Mine until it breaks. Make stone tools with it, and there you go.
