Pigs randomly spawn on my island :/

Pigs and sheep spawn in daylight. If I recall correctly they disappear at night unless you box them in some place full of torches.

So they can just spawn on your island, unlike monsters.

How do I get started in Indev mode? I don't know what to do, really.
For instance, where is cobblestone found?

Dig any normal rock and you will get cobblestone.
Smelt cobblestone to get regular rock.
(I know, it doesnt make any sense. But hey, its his game.)
To get rock you're going to need a pick axe. Craft one with wood.

What I did was mined three rock by hand and then made rock pickax and then made like 50 of them until I found better resources.

Without a pickaxe you dont get any rock.
