On my main world...
Found a cave with lots of iron, cobwebs, and a bit of mithril!

Soon after, I was ambushed by waves of monsters. First four zombies and a skeleton, then three creepers. The last creeper came a minute after the others and ended up killing me.
(A few seconds before death)
I ran back, got my stuff, and then tamed a doge with the last bone I had. I went to investigate a huge pitfall and was pushed down by a creeper(!!!) only barely surviving the fall. The doge and I held off hordes of incoming zombies for a while, but then I died by a creeper again. At least my wolf wasn't killed.

After retrieving my items and then exploring the cave a bit more, I returned to my house safe and sound.
