I think you'll be able to trade with and talk to the inhabitants who will farm, sell, walk around, etc; I'm assuming it will have good AI.

How to disable villages: Dynamite.

It would be nice to have a world generation preferences screen when you start a new world.
One that asks you if you want npc villages, ruins, oceans, rivers, small/medium/large sized biomes, etc.
