I think I got my server set up, when I tried it on that connection diagnosis it said it was allowed, but when I try to join it says "Connection Refused."

Am I doing something wrong?
Also, how do I set up what world I'm using on the server?

You probably tested localhost, which you can of course join since your connection isn't blocked from itself. Port forwarding involves the router, not the operating system.

Setting up a static IP makes no sense on a mac.
