Oh my god. My first time playing Minecraft in months is the best time I've had in a while. :D
I just started a new world in 1.1 and decided to do my strategy of tunneling and surviving a little differently. I spent the entire first day exploring and stuff, and I found a small village in the middle of a massive desert. They had everything I needed to start out, I had some minor amount of wood, but I saw the village as a great deal, I live in a small abandoned house and I farm for them.
I ended up 'persuading' their librarian leader to allow me to upgrade their farms, expanding them and using cobblestone instead of logs to border them. Turns out, that went very well, and the entire village was fed by my new efficient farmlands. I ended up renovating the town next.
Twas amazing, knocked down buildings, rebuilt roads in my stone style, and continued to live in my little house farming almost every day. :D
It all ends with today for now, I finally decided to try out the breeding bit of Minecraft that was added a while back, got every type of animal after I first tried sheep, and I had to expand my temporary ranch 4 times to encompass the huge herd of assorted animals that the town in the desert now had access to. The reason my farms were so successful by the way were nothing trampled on them, villagers are inside, no animals spawn, I've slept through most of the nights.
So much stuff has been done, and I can't wait to start enchanting and doing the alchemist thing. :D
