Author Topic: Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it  (Read 6732667 times)

You cant make Minecraft harder.
You could buff Skeletons and Zombies, and make them hit harder.
You could have less life.
You could buff Endermen to be faster...
But honestly, thats just annoying.

Whats a good way to hide a stone pressure plate? I'm gonna mess with my friends caves. Using a piston push trap by the way.

Im thinking about making a texture pack. I need some opinions. Should it be darker? Lighter? Maybe 32x?

In the dark.

Saw "piston trap"

Instantly thought of a funny joke I pulled on my bro.
He had a cave that went to bedrock. He was really proud of it. I rigged it with a pressure plate that was on his stairs he had made, halfway down. What it did was, when he stepped on it, it released a piston way back in a small cave I had made bordering his cave. This cave connected with his torches, by one block. Like this:
X~X    X is a block
X~X    ~ is water
XVX    V is his torch
The piston was far enough to where he couldn't hear it, so when the piston was released, water poured out all around his cave, flooding in and breaking the torches. We were Skype'ing as we were on my server. All I remember is him going, "Uhh. Why did I hear a pressure plate click? WTF WHERE DID MY LIGHTS GO?"
He fell off his stairs, dying of fall damage. This was unintended, but hilarious nonetheless.

I remember when the most advanced redstone stuff I made were landmines.

I still suck though, I can really only do logic gates and traps.

I love making mob traps with redstone. My favorite would definitely have to be the four open doors with a pressure pad in the middle of them. When a monster walks over the pad at night, the four doors close and it's trapped in there. I haven't done it in a while so it may have gotten nerfed.

As long as it isn't unreasonable, they could path in. Although since it uses doors and the AI counts for them being open and closed, you'll have to make sure that when nothing is inside, all the doors are "open." AKA when you place them, click them once to be open.

Pistons Worked. I feel like a richard because I gave myself end portal and put it at the bottom of the hole.

Can you go from the End to the nether then to the real world? :o

>dig downwards in a stairway fashion for the first time ever
>godly amounts of coal
>stuffton of iron
>lotsa useless gold
>four stacks of redstone + more :C
>lapiz lazuli everywhere
>go down farther
>4 diamonds in one vein
>victory

some time later

>find stronghold
>entire library with a lot of cobwebs and stones and moss and creepers (D:)
>leave library
>go past waterfall
>find abandoned mine shaft
>victory

some more time later

>find chests within mine shaft after stealing all of its tracks and loot
>chests contain melon and pumpkin seeds
>good because I have a sugarcane and wheat farm that I religiously tend to (and by that I mean I go down to the underground, come back weeks later, harvest my stuff, replant, and repeat) and can now make some more stuff
>victory

Never could. The Overworld is always the starting point.
