Considering a portal is required to enter the Nether and it's been referred to as another dimension, I don't think it and the overworld are anywhere near each other

So something more like this? (Not to scale)

Considering a portal is required to enter the Nether and it's been referred to as another dimension, I don't think it and the overworld are anywhere near each other
this
void = space
end portal = portal that takes you into the right location in space to find the End

End is in the Void, Nether is a whole new dimension therefore wouldnt physically be in the real world as the End would be

The void could be a barrier betwean the Nether and the Surface but why is it there in the first place? Was there some war betwean the Surface and the Nether many years before the events of Minecraft?

Maybe those of the Surface put a seal around the Nether to prevent any of the creatures in it from escaping to the Surface and cause chaos. If this is true then that seal became the void.

The End might be set inside the heart of the void, the Enderman there might of been creatures of the Nether and the Surface that got trapped in the void and were slowly turned into Enderman by the void itself but it does not explain why that part of the void does not hurt you but the edges of the void do. Maybe the Enderman somehow controlled the voids effects there not to hurt outsiders?

The Enderdragon might of been a dragon before it got trapped in the void but it is unknown if it is from the Nether or the Surface But it does not explain why it drops a portal back to the surface once it's been killed. Maybe the void itself gave it that power?

Portals might not be dimension portals that take you to another dimension, they could be portals that take you to another part of the world like that was found shortly after the Nethers release as making portals in the Nether allow you to travel very far on the Surface world.

The reason for these portals is because most of the bottom parts of the Nether is filled with lava, it might suggest that the Nether itself is close to the worlds core.

void = space
end portal = portal that takes you into the right location in space to find the End

End is in the Void, Nether is a whole new dimension therefore wouldnt physically be in the real world as the End would be

Like this?

I think we can all agree that Mojang was completely buttforget handicapped when they came up with this stuff.

However, it'd be 2 flat planes, but it goes across, but not curved, as the minecraft world is similar to paper with mountains and hills sticking up and down.

precisely
this is pretty much what the world would be.

There, happy?

I'm thinking the nether would be above the End, seeing how it is the end.
Like World, Void, Nether, Void, End.

I can do more, but I might go to bed soon.

I always imagined the End was the moon and the Nether was hell below the world.

there are no giant black pillars on the moon

me and Nullable are looking for a server, preferably bukkit, non-rpg, non-faction
not too crowded if at all and not a bunch of houses/structures everywhere

any takers

My view on things. Behold my shoppin' powers.

Bedrock is regular stuff hardened to be indestructible due to the whatever power of the void. Nether is what. Perhaps End is stuff that has fallen out of the overworld and has somehow remained soft and clumped up into island thing and I don't know.
