it depends on what everyone else is getting. i'd give him something that combines leather and iron, assuming you have more than 3 or so classes

everytime i try to edit kits in essentials config it screws them up and gives me config broken :( will one of you do me a favor and write it all up for me in the config file?

Don't give the Tank diamond armor unless you plan on making him fight people with his fists. Even then it's probably too much.
