Guys, how do you stay interested in megaprojects?

Dedication and real desire to be able to be proud of what you complete.  If you want to be proud that you built the Colosseum in Rome in Minecraft, you have to actually DO it.  If you don't want to reap the benefit of completing megaprojects then you won't feel the need to do them to begin with.

Or you could have an actual need for them, i.e. a man-made river in order to link two other rivers in your survival game.

Late, but I said the exact same goddamn thing at least 3 pages back from where you posted this from. He's right.

It's like I'm connecting through localhost with Minecraft's horrible networking, it's taking twice the resources it should be taking, and I'm forced to load chunks from this gay ass listen server instead of my hard drive. Development has gone down the drain since 1.7, and this just takes the cake. If you're going to make the client be able to host, either take the chunks from the hard drive instead of taking them from a loving localhost server (which would be at least 12x faster because of minecraft's loving horrible network backbone,) or fix networking.
