Greyscale implies there is no hue unless you're some wackity dodong who slightly tints your greys (eg Lego's heathen blueish grey)

I could have sworn that it puts a red overlay on the image so the hue can change, Photoshop does the same thing with the "Colourize" checkbox under the hue options.

try making a golden belt that doesn't get recolored when you turn the armor black. likewise, try having a gray faceplate like in the derivation pack that won't get recolored.

"just don't do it" is not a solution to a problem, it's a lazy work around that does nothing for anyone.

point is: you can still add color that only lightens/darkens when the armor is dyed
also, make the color super bright

if i add black to yellow you get blackish green, not yellow. that is the point.

They still have to apply the lily pad/vine/etc. fix to leather armor. It has the white item in hand oversight. Just apply that fix so it also applies the color.
