I think they should implement redstone+slimeballs to make sticky redstone that can be placed on walls or ceilings.

They not only had an entire panel devoted to the Mod API, they talked a stuff ton about it during the other main panels at Minecon. It is supposed to be coming in January. It won't be in the Redstone Update, but it'll come out close to then.

no, it was discussed for a bit at some point to have actual, mob fish that the "fishable" fish were only a placeholder for. it was never implemented.

They should also add spears that you can use to throw and stab things with, and if you hit a fish with it, you get a fish on a stick.
