In ancient Greece and Rome, being gay or straight was looked upon as rather you like Baseball or Football in today's standards.

I learned that from the TV show, "History of love: Ancient Civilizations" on the History Channel. :D

why hate gay guys?

Queen would be missing a Freddy.

In my experience I think people are generally a lot more accepting these days of homoloveuality and stuff, as you can see from the gay marriage things being approved in some states of the USA at the moment. But I do think that a lot of people dislike the gay stereotypical behaviour and personality more than their loveual preference. Personally (and I know its probably wrong to say and all that) I can't stand those flamboyant gay types who dress in vibrant colours, talk with a stupid lisp and just act outrageously gay. Its no problem if you act like a normal person but happen to like dudes though. I recently found out one of my best friends from my last school was homophobic too but I haven't bothered trying to change his mind or anything, it's pretty futile.

me either, i got a gay friend like that... i suppose every chick has, lol. It's ok sometimes and its fun but other times i cant stand it! like when he almost creams his pants over overly gay designer clothes he's looking online and refers to himself as queen bitch, im like '.........no.'

Not liking someone for how they act is perfectly acceptable, I agree.

Nice sarcasm there - if someone acts like a richard is it still wrong to dislike them? I just don't like the way those types of people act, I'm sure there are plenty of people that agree with me.

It's a pet peeve of mine when someone acts like that :[.

As long as I'm not getting hit on, it's all cool. :)

Thus it has been proved to me yet again how insanely ignorant half of the people on this forum are.

As for the topic at hand, I have no beef with gay people. Even if they're attracted to me. So be it, they like the same love, big deal.

Hell, even if I'm getting hit on, I would more likely be flattered that I'm found attractive than pissed off at the gay guy.

Those are the people who actually parade the stereotype and give gay people a bad name. I think it's ok to hate them. lol

There is merit in this, and I can agree. There are quite a few gay people in my school and some are the "Heeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" type while others I'm like "Oh wow, I would never have guessed". I am not sure if they are like this because they are gay (most likely not), or just because they just happen to seek attention. I know one of my teachers confronted a friend of mine for being too gay (i.e writing an essay about his studmuffin for English, constantly touching people, etc.) Of course, we can't generalize the whole group, but it seems a lot of them dress loudly. I do find their company interesting but, like everything, it gets old. It's like "I get it, your gay." Still, they are nice people no doubt about that.

Perhaps its just they are more confident and more comfortable with themselves, and perhaps, we could all take a lesson from them.

*NOTE* I am only basing this off where I love, which is a rather gay state.

Lol. Anyway yeah, I think the whole flamboyant gay thing is just to be different and to stand out. I'm glad i'm not one of those types - I was totally one of the "Oh wow, I would never have guessed" types which is great. Of course they're nice but it's just very exhausting to be with them.
