Author Topic: Can someone tell me what it is like to lose a limb?  (Read 3312 times)

I have a question, does anyone know what its like to lose a limb, right there on the spot?

Yes I googled it and I didnt find anything telling me what it was like. I know its a random question but im throwing mortar primes at soldeirs in CoD5 and watching their limbs fly off, and seeing the bones and all the blood where the limb got split. Its a random question I know, but im curious.

Is "ridiculously painful" not good enough for you?

It's a lot like losing a limb.

I expect it would go something like this

person: lalala, oh look, a land mine, How queer.
EXPLODE
person: Oh my, My leg appears to have flown over to that tree, Help i say, Help.

EXPLODE

Help arrives.

Person: It seems as if I have stepped on a mine and my leg has flown over into that tree over there.
Help: How may I help you?
Person: Could you please get my leg?
Help: *Thinks* It seems as if I have not brought latter. Good day sir.
Person: Good day to you to. Thanks for your help!

Think of extreme pain in your shoulder, and not being able to move your arm.
There you go

I like to think that it's so painful that you can't feel it as much.

But I know I'm wrong. The thought of that much pain makes me sick.

Help arrives.

Clearly the work of a non British person C-

It would be as nonchalant as a spy or medic on fire.

Spies like to talk to themselves. It helps them realize that they are burning. It would appear I am on fire.

Medics like to announce their pain to the world, in a very nice little voice. Everyone, I am on fire :D :D :D

I succeed!

Imagine your leg going numb and not feeling it. Then take that and add pain to your hip.

My leg

Like that Wilhelm-esque scream in Spongebob? Where that guy always screams "my leg!"? :D

Guys, I just took an m1919 and shot this guy up, he was laying there weeping in pain because both of his legs were blown off by the machine gun. The bones, arteries, everthing is there where the limb came off 0.0

Just imagine the sight of you losing your leg and all that....ewww

Person: *gets shot, and loses legs*

Person: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Just think of the extreme pain and agony of a simple wound, and times that suffering by 10. The pain is so great, you scream without choice. Just the simple impulse, and pain propels you to do so. Tears stream out of your eyes from the mere pressure of hurt, and blood spills from your wound, trying to fix the problem. You instantly clamp your hands down on the stubbed end, and your bone had ripped, and shattered off in a crooked spiky manner. Joints and ligaments and veins hang loosely and torn from the end, and flesh has been mangled about in heap of bloody suffering.

I think I went a little too far there...
