Author Topic: moving bricks  (Read 926 times)

I think that there should be a massive mod that allows bricks to be moved in various directions. using events you would make a brick move one block in any direction. when activated, it checks for floating collision burried and all else, and if clear, moves. when moving a group of named bricks, it cancels out all moves if one is floating or anything else. also there should be a "display messup message" check box, to toggle whether to tell you if it cant move.

I know this is probably impossible, but thankyou for reading.

why does it have to check floating? dosnt that rule out elevators? maybe you should choose if it checks floating.

Its a nice idea, but If in whatever way it had been managed to have been created, I can see a problem here.
1) It would probably cause a fair amount of Lag for someone

It is impossible

I figured, there is no way to make a mod that deletes a brick and replaces it next to itself?

It is impossible

It would be possible with fakekilling but if you stepped on it...

Smash.

wat about translating bricks?
example:
you have a brick.
an animation w/ no collision move to a target area.
brick spwans w/ collision in target area named.
Maybe?

It is impossible

Not completely, the evelator brick moves up and down.

Wrong, Darklight made a brick that moves up and down, this is possible, and it doesn't lag and it's not jerky.

I was thinking the brick would kill itself saving all of its events, items, emitters, placement, and name, etc. and would place a brick whatever the width of a brick is over in any direction, and if it is collision or whatever else, it would cancel and place back where it was, if no problem with move, it places. THERE.

This is 100% possible, and we have had private moving brick mods throughout all versions of blockland.

I have an event driven mod that works very effectively, using the method that Dy mar describes.

Bricks can NOT be made to move. Your idea of "moving bricks" are illusions, using what I believe is fxStaticShape, which was how bricks were made in v0002.

What.

Yeah, because you know, its not like I've already made moving bricks or anything, no.

What's your method then?

Deleting and recreating. It has nothing to do with "fxStaticShape".

inb4THAT ISNT MOVEMENT

And then

inb4Rky explains why that is movement
