According to the Library of Congress' "Everyday Mysteries" section (refer to the link, below), sneezing does not cause the heart to stop.

While in the ER, I was hooked up to an EKG machine. When I sneezed, I did not flatline, I maxed. If anything, your heart speeds up.

There is way more than a millisecond between each heartbeat...
Recently I got an EKG when I had a lyme disease scare thing goin on, and apparently I have a heart problem which could lead to sudden heart attacks later in life. If your heart beats faster than once every .4 seconds I think, you have a 'heart problem', and that's me!

Or it could be like in Ghost Town (movie).  whenever a ghost passes through a living person, they sneeze :3
