Author Topic: Project Natal Xbox 360 Microsoft GAMING REVOLUTION  (Read 1920 times)

Alright, GAMING REVOLUTION right here!

At school today, I heard from my friends that Microsoft coming up with a add-on to their Xbox 360. They told me about it and I was compelled to find out more. Looking it up after school, I found that Microsoft is working on a motion sensing device called Project Natal. I thought that they were just copying the Wii, but no, they weren't. Reading further into an article I found, I read that with the Natal connected to your Xbox 360, you become the controller! No, you don't use the controller at all.

Features:

  • Say your playing a fist-fighting game. You start the game, and the first enemy comes to you. What do you do? Punch it! No, not by pressing the A button, by actually swinging your arm, and throwing a punch!
  • 'How do I go through menus?' you may ask. Well, Lets say your going through your friends list on the dashboard. Lift your hand and swipe it to the left, and you'll move through your friends list! Want to select a friend? Just jab in the direction that the friend's profile is, and it'll dive into his/her account!
  • Want to change your gamer profile without going through the dashboard? Just stand infront of the Natal's camera, and look into the lens. Few seconds later, WHAM! Your logged into your gamer profile!
  • Natal compatible games can also work over Xbox live! Imagine fighting some guy half-way across the globe, without leaving your living room!
  • Natal has a powerful mini microphone inside so that not only can you be punching some European 8 year old in the face over Xbox Live, you can also taunt him as he tries to get up!
  • Playing a skating game? Want it to be more than custimizable? Grab your deck, and show it to your Natal's lense, and let it scan both sides of the board. Then, scan yourself! Jump back into the game where the main charecter, now, is you!

The Natal is supposed to come out sometime in late 2009 or early 2010, and is priced at a whopping $200, but what would you do? Buy yet ANOTHER remake of an already fine DS, or save your money a little longer and buy the second best thing to virtual reality?

How it works:

The Natal uses a camera lense to see you moving, and put a infra-red basic body frame on your body. When you move, the data from the body frame moving gets sent to the charecter in the game, making your charecter move. The Natal also works as a webcam so that you can chat with friends over Xbox Live with it.

BTW, Heres a promo for it:

EDIT:

Odd, I realize that someone else had posted something about the Natal. Wasn't there before.

It's funny how we both posted about how it's a Gaming Revolution. Also, my brother showed me this. If E3 still had where you can get tickets from developers then my broter could have gone. (my dad made a game named Warbrids. I made a topic with proof in it)

Yep, so original, ripping off of PS eyetoy.

I don't see you saying the same thing about $ony ripping off the Wii remote.

With new technology not yet used in gaming. No lights used for it, purple dots.

Same concept, same result.

At least NATAL actually works properly, unlike EyeToy.

PSEye works well, already out, Sony already got there first.

No one cares if a company steals an idea. If they do it better, then it's time for the original company to up their game and one up on the rival.

One time I used y friends Eyetoy at his party and it sucks. When I play a game where you need to move your body to whack Ninja's they get auto whacked or something without me moving.

PSEYE. Not same thing.

Link me to a few games that use the PSEye.

Can't on PSP, but that card game uses it, some PSN things, and Burnout uses it as a webcam. JSK, I know that, but MS is saying it's their idea and all.

It's not really being used as a gaming device, then.

... yep, because using it to control something in a PSN game doesn't make it a gaming device.
