Next time, go to a small computer repair shop.

Because the owners of the store will also probably be the ones taking care of the computer, it's pretty obvious that they like fixing computers(why would they start a store if they didn't?) and they will likely cost you less and be much more kind to you. Also they aren't handicapped like the huge companies.

They will probably do it faster, cheaper, and be of much more service to you, oh and they'll be nice.

Oh and learn to use paragraphs, it was horrendous to read that.

Well you guys seem to miss the point of what he said. He has the warranty deal which pretty much locks out any other form of repair outside Best Buy if he wants to keep the warranty intact. It's a rather crappy policy they do to ensure they keep your business.

A similar thing happened to me when I bought a laptop back in 2000. It was a simple Compaq but after a year of decent performance, the hard drive failed and wouldn't boot. So I brought it in with my warranty plan and they fixed it in a couple weeks.

Two months later, I find out that they only reformatted the thing and didn't replace the defective drive as it had failed again. So I brought it back told them I knew what they didn't do and said I want to watch the process of the repair. (they actually did it in store at that point, surprisingly) After I was satisfied that they had actually replaced the part, I took it home happy and willing to go on to a continued use.

Turns out a few weeks later half my keyboard ended up failing. Most likely unrelated, but the fact that it failed so quickly made me curious. So I brought it in again and demanded a new computer per to the warranty agreement. At the time my warranty agreement was if it has to be repaired 3 times, I get a new one. Apparently the terms changed somewhere between that and I needed it to break 4 times before replacement. So I had no choice but to have them fix it.

I get it back only to have the hard drive once again fail two months later. Apparently they sell stuffty components as well to their inability to fix a simple laptop. and at that time, I had all my repair slips so there was no way I wasn't walking out of the store with a new laptop. When I told them warranty had been reached, they tried to argue that I hadn't brought it in 4 times. So I shoved the 4 repair receipts in their face and told them to learn to count. I got a new laptop had to pay a difference for it because apparently they didn't sell laptops that cheap anymore, and I said I was forever done dealing with computers and Best buy.

Sad thing is, 3 months later I killed that one by spilling soda all over it. :(

Never EVER take your computer to big store brands who think they can fix it, I trust my local computer shoppette because they're more reliable, fast, and smart.

Why would they even THINK that you were happy with there service?
Like you said "it was suppose to take 5 days and it took 45."
Worst service ever.
