Author Topic: High Ping in games  (Read 1754 times)

So anyway, today I got myself a new graphics card, (HD radeon 4650) and a new power Source. (some kind of 550 watt thing) And had them installed. I turned it on and it was alright, untill I played TF2 and recieved a ping of 900. How the forget did this happen? I can't begin to fathom how a graphics card or a power source could do this. Can I fix this? If so, how?

Well, first, are you running LAN or WAN?

WAN

It wouldn't.

But it was working fine until I had the card installed. I just went with logic on this one. :\

I advise using LAN instead of WAN, as WAN can just randomly disconnect at times, even if you are really close.

Also make sure no one else is doing anything that consumes bandwidth (i.e downloading) and that you have any P2P/Bittorrent/torrent programs closed.

I had this happen to me once I couldn't play multiplayer on any source or OB engines for a year when It suddenly fixed itself.

Holy stuff, 23.1 mb/s?

Mine barely goes past 1 mb/s, and I'm on broadband.

Mine is only 100kb/s most of the time :(

I've had 200 mb/s before.

Needs more isp name and where you live and how much that costs you.

My internet drops me too 10KB/s when downloading. but I'm having issues with my computers LAN so It really drops me to 4KB/s
