Author Topic: Fallout 3 is the stuff  (Read 7994 times)

I love this game. I beat it yesterday night and the ending was amazing, if not a bit saddening. I've never gotten into a game like this, it's pretty damn immersive.

My current character's build was terrible though (explosions 100, science 100, speech 100, never maxed out any weapons) so I made another character this morning mostly because I wanted to try some hand-to-hand and melee stuff and secondly because I wanted to go exploring without getting my ass handed to me, hopefully. I'm playing on hard mode so things like speech didn't really help against most things like the loving mutated animals and giant scorpions.

Unarmed so far seems to be pretty awesome if only to disarm raiders, still doesn't help much against the wildlife.

Anyways do any of you guys have this game and what kind of build do you guys use?

Nice.
I'm stuck at the place were there are loads of super mutants and theres a ghoul place underground.

I have this game, as soon as I left the vault I found out I had no ammo. My strongest weapon I had at the time was the baseball bat, which kind of sucked when 3 mutant mole things started chasing me. D:

The baseball bat was my weapon of choice for a long time, until I found the Hunting Rifle

Actually my favorite weapon was probably the Flamer (flamethrower) since I had that pyromaniac perk, probably the only good reason to invest in explosives. The flamer did something like 180 damage plus fire damage-over-time, I dunno if this was with Pyromaniac or not, either way enemies melted whenever I used it on them. I just couldn't find enough fuel ammo for it half the time :(

There are lots of places like that haha, is it in the city's metro stations and stuff?

Get the DLC :o  I like the Tenpenny Tower Suite over the Megaton House :D  Yay, negative karma.

Isn't the DLC stuff US only or something gay like that? loving microsoft live bullstuff won't let me buy them because I don't live in the states.

Also yeah I couldn't bring myself to nuke the poor little town :(

My favorite weapon has to be the Perforator. A fully automatic sniper rifle with a 24 round clip. Yeah, doesn't do too much damage to most enemies, but when it comes to waste-landers and raiders, it's far more than enough to deal with them.

I just found the schematics to what I presume is a claw weapon in the south west corner of the map. Had to get past a Deathclaw, yeah that was kind of hard. It hit me two times and I died instantly, so much for my unarmed combat idea but I guess it makes sense seeing it has two giant loving claws that would make Freddy more then a little jealous. I took care of it though with a little bottlecap mine supplemented with about 10 frag mines, still wasn't dead but it's legs were crippled (bottlecap mines do 350+ damage god damn). Then I just shot it until it died, keeping my distance from it.

I hope this weapon turns out to be a melee weapon or unarmed weapon. All that's left to make it is a leather belt

It's the best melee weapon

It does little damage but it ignores armor (DR) so it's pretty powerful

Being a melee character is so much fun (chinese stealth suit + melee = :3) but gets old because there are very little melee weapons

It counts as an unarmed weapon, due to it going around your hand.  But don't build it just yet; get some other schematics first, so it'll be at least level 2 when you go to make it and it will be stronger.

Read this "Fallout 3 is stuff" and wtf'd

Im on my second play through with a better char build

Wait, I always thought you lived in the states.

Fallout 3 is an awesome game though, the Rock-It launcher is one of the most awesome guns in the game for flinging bent tin cans, soda bottles and mutilated organs at raiders.

It is now my favorite game, ever. No contest.

I hate the fallout wildlife, its all really good. But flame throwers can help with that.
