Author Topic: Hand animations  (Read 1562 times)

I was working on making some melee weapons and I would like to know how to make your hand do cool animations. Do you just include the mountpoint joint in your animation?

No, you use the animations that the player has already.

But you can make a new playertype with this animations
(you could use the normal dts file)

I suppose you could hide the hand nodes and just make them yourself, but that'd be kind of a bother and would screw up the hand colors.

I made the hands paint to your hand colors:

HOW? :O

It doesn't work half right. Doesn't support hooks, and it's overwritten whenever someone else equips the weapon (i.e. every other players holding the gun have their hands turn to the color of the hands of the new user).

Going ty Space Guy's earlier suggestion would be the best way to go about it, and that is simply creating new playerCharacter model animations, which is perfectly doable.

Yeah, I posted that picture before I tested it's compatibility with other people. It doesn't work, so were just going to make a new player animation, and then fit it to the rifle. This way, it works with your settings without hacky glitchy crap.
